Manage Your Environment – GO FIRST CLASS
Chapter 2: Continued from The Know It All Who Knew Nothing…
At this point, I had already proven to myself and the company that I was capable, highly competitive and may I say – a little odd in more ways than one! I was now hungry to learn, ready to step up my game and eager to close some business.
There was only one thing standing in my way – I had NO clue what I was doing!
Right then, I made a decision – I vowed I would never allow myself to get caught up amongst individuals who represented mediocrity. I learned that people who tell you it cannot be done almost always are unsuccessful people, and strictly average or mediocre at best in terms of accomplishment.
My plan was to always be better today than I was yesterday, to keep my head down and monitor my progress on an hourly basis. Always one step ahead!
In order to dramatically increase my knowledge, I knew I must only learn from successful individuals – nothing less.
“Manage your environment – Never associate with negative individuals. Learn from the best. ALWAYS GO FIRST CLASS!” – David Schwartz
Admittedly, I am selfish and aggressive when it comes to reaching my goals. This trait soon proved to be a great advantage this early on in the process. Plus, I was anything but timid when it came to seeking mentors for their knowledge and guidance. It was during this learning curve that I recognized that leaders are generous!
“Leaders who set out to give are more productive than leaders who set out to get..” – Seth Godin
