One of the things I love the best about my workplace is the philanthropic heart we seem to have as a whole. For years, Pop Labbers have partnered with different non-profit organizations in order to reach out to others and give back to the community.
This holiday season, Pop Labs adopted a refugee Karenni-Burmese family through the Interfaith Ministries of Houston. The Karenni are part of a group that has escaped from Burma (also known as Myanmar). These people have fled a military regime that the Bush administration had singled out as one of the most brutal in the world. (more…)

A Pre-Holiday Treat
Santa came early this year, in the form of our good friend Matt Mullenweg (@photomatt), founder of blogging platform Wordpress and Chief BBQ Taste Tester of Automattic (just kidding… sort of).
Matt, armed with one of Pop Labs’ famous margaritas, delivered an informative and entertaining Q&A for Refresh Houston. Having seen Matt last year at his HTC presentation, I thought that maybe this year’s presentation/gab fest was going to be similar. Talk about the future of open source. Talk about online liberties. There is no shortage of bloggers talking about how to apply Social Media to your business. Most of the time it is repetitive and regurgitated information from many sources. No doubt you have probably already read some of these countless articles about Social Media. What’s my point? The point is that it obviously takes a strategy to be successful with Social Media.
