Roundhouse Kicks, Uppercuts and Other Ways to Success
I’d like to start off by saying that I never used to be what some people refer to as a “gym rat.” To me, going to the gym was at the bottom of my priorities list. I always heard about people finding that “perfect workout routine” that was just right for them. However, I thought that this scenario didn’t apply to me. I hated working out. You name it, I tried it. I did yoga, Pilates, weights, running, elliptical, belly dancing, boot camps….and nothing gave me the results I wanted because I detested going so much I could never stick with it long enough. Maybe it was my mind-set, or maybe I wasn’t putting in enough effort. Whatever the reason, I still hated working out.
While still in search of the “perfect workout,” I had numerous friends try to persuade me to take kickboxing classes at their gym. I gave in and got a group of friends together to try it. I’ll admit- I felt unprepared and completely nervous on the first day. However, I had three classes for free and figured, why the hell not?
That’s when I fell in love.
Kickboxing was really fun and a hardcore workout! I actually looked forward to going even though it was hard. I was surrounded by helpful people that knew how to push me when I needed it the most. And the rest is history.
My quest to find the perfect workout is very similar to what many of my clients go through when looking for cost-effective advertising. I hear from my clients all the time, that they’ve tried other forms of traditional advertising before for their small business and nothing really seems to work. In addition, the most typical forms of advertising are, in most cases, extremely expensive- especially for a small business owner in this tough economy. Another downside to traditional forms of advertising is many people do not even know if all that money they are spending is really helping them. There isn’t a way to track the effectiveness of an ad you take out in a local newspaper or magazine. How do you know if your billboard ad or TV commercials are even being seen by your target audience? Herein lies the reasons why allocating a significant part of your budget towards online marketing efforts gives you more targeted leads.
By utilizing online marketing strategies, business owners know exactly how their target audience finds them. And once those people come to your website, they will be able to find exactly what they need as easily as possible.
This is what I help develop everyday for our clients, as a project coordinator at Pop Labs. First, my team and I start by collecting and researching information about a client’s particular business. Then, we devise a plan of action for a client’s campaign, which includes how to increase the quality and quantity of traffic to the site. Then we take the business owner’s input and the knowledge from one of our Search Engine Marketing Specialists and begin creating your website. After a very thorough process of development and testing, we then present our final product, a new website build from scratch as well as a marketing campaign to complement it.
At the end, a smart business owner needs to go with what works. Our process works just like kickboxing works for me. Perhaps it might be hard to jump into new things headfirst, but if the benefits are apparent, you can expect to see great results.
