Thoughts, concepts, and notions about marketing, design and social media that are easy to understand and deal with. We are passionate about creating things that do what they are supposed to do, when they are supposed to do it. Nothing more nothing less...
UPDATE: Team Dirty Pop placed 1st in Formula 1 and Team Pop Rocks placed 3rd in Stock Car! Great job!
With an early start, visits from our non profits, and few bumps in the technical road, we made it through the competition! Pop Labs was proudly represented by two out of the six participating teams this Saturday in the Air Houston competition held by Knowbility:
Team Dirty Pop, (Formula One Division) consisting of Jillian, Davis, and Jairo recreated Clayton Library Friends’ website to be timeless with the feeling of rich history.
Team Pop Rocks, (Stock Car Division) consisting of Jackie, Stefanie, Kimberly, and Bruce created a fresh site for the Ms. Wheelchair America organization in a glitzy pageant manner. For each of us being a first time competitor in AIR, we learned quite a bit about making the web accessible with hot keys, colorblind contrast, and more. Our wonderful contact at Ms. Wheelchair America, Angela, brought our team pageant goodies including tiaras and crowns!
Judging has begun and will be announced at the awards banquet next month. Stay tuned for details!
Team Dirty Pop with our Clayton Library 'Friend' Barbara, who was a fantastic cheerleader!
Welcome back! Here is part 2 of our weekly Modx Screencasts. This week we’ll cover a top-level view of the Modx Manager interface and how to create new documents (resources in v 1.0), editing and deleting.
If you have anything you like us to cover, please let us know in the comments section and we’ll be sure to include them in our up coming screencasts! Thanks again for stopping by and we look forward to doing next week’s Modx Monday Screencast!
This month we will be sponsoring the Refresh Houston meetup group in our new building. It will be a good opportunity for everyone to check out the new location, the space available for interested businesses looking for new space (up to 10,000 contiguous square ft. – wink wink) and of course networking with industry professionals. This month’s meeting will feature speaker Sheena T. Abraham from Commit for Life (Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center). She will be presenting on the benefits of social media for non-profits.
Not only will we be providing the meeting space, we’re cranking up the margarita machine and providing appetizersĀ for all those who join us! Be sure to RSVP for the event so we can accommodate everyone!
We look forward to seeing everyone and welcome you all to our new building!
